Sheri S Tepper
A bit of background on the author...
Sheri S Tepper is a well noted author within the speculative fiction community and has produced quite a few works under her name and several pen names. She worked as director for a planned parenthood center, the influence of which can be seen when examining the birthing practices of The Gate To Women's Country. Planned Parenthood is an organization in the USA which is constantly under scutiny due to it's afiliation with sex and abortions. Tepper is well-known for her brand of feminist and ecofeminist science fiction though she also wrote horror and mysteries.
