Iphigenia
The tale of Iphigenia can vary greatly but there are a few common factors in the retellings of the myth. Iphigenia was the daughter of Agammemnon who, in order to appease Artemis before taking off for the Trojan Wars, sacrifices his daughter. The myths vary here to say whether Iphigenia in fact did die or if Artemis saved her at the last moment and replaced her with a deer or a goat.
